BEFORE CUSTODY BEGINS
There are practical questions families can address before a surrender date: who handles bills, where important records are kept, who should be contacted in an emergency, and how communication will work when access is limited or delayed.
The goal is not to predict every event. It is to reduce preventable confusion and give everyone a clearer idea of what comes next.

A PLAN BUILT AROUND YOUR FAMILY
I tailor the conversation to your timeline, relationships, concerns, communication style and practical responsibilities.
You can attend a consultation alone, with the person preparing to enter custody or with another family member. I can also work with family members who need preparation and support even when I am not beginning a new coaching relationship with the person already in custody.
FIRSTHAND PERSPECTIVE
I served time across medium, low and camp security levels. I use what I learned to explain prison routines and family communication in plain language while staying within appropriate educational boundaries.
HOW CONSULTATIONS WORK
Phone and video consultations are available nationwide. The first 30-minute consultation is free and carries no obligation.
For clients in the San Francisco Bay Area, in-person meetings are also available. Travel outside the Bay Area can be arranged in advance.
Self-surrender preparation →CLEAR BOUNDARIES
Federal Prison Preparation provides experience-based educational guidance and does not provide legal, medical, mental-health or psychological advice.
I cannot promise communication access, visiting approval, placement, program admission, release dates or any government decision.
